WCCF-Dec 14th 9am Heres a quick rundown on how the day will go. We will take as much warm up time as needed, then take 3 attempts at snatch and clean and jerk. Were going to run the day like a sinclair meet. Were not going to make you weight in we will just use your weight class as your weight for the day and will compete for an individual score. We will also do a team score, witch will be the average sinclair number of the whole team.
This will be the first time we go out and train like this with another team. The goal will be to travel around chicago maybe once a month to lift like this with another team, as well as invite other teams to come train with us at Chicago Strength. This will be a great chance to go around the city and see other gyms and compete on a less formal basis then a full meet.
If you haven't been around class times and been updated on the program for the rest of the year here is what we will be doing. With how hard it is to stay on a training cycle around the holidays we are going to use a balgrain-ish program till the end of the year. This means we will snatch, clean and jerk and squat each session. During the week the goal is to work up to a heavy single of each lift, Anything over 90% will do. Then back down for 3 drop sets of singles or doubles. Were not really looking for a PR, just a quality lift. Saturday is the day we will truly max out and go for a PR on each lift with no drop sets. For squatting during the week you have your choice of squats. You can pick front or back squats and the reps, but it should be a max effort set at the reps you choose. Saturday after you max out do a heavy single front or back squat and go for a PR if you can, then do one set of 20 with no belts or wraps.
Jan 18th we have a meet at Sayer Park here in Chicago and will be on the balgarin-ish training till then. If you start having a hard time with the program or are not sure how to use it send me an email to me at Terry@chicagostrength.com and I can help you out with it. We are still working out what our next meet will be after that. We have talked about going to the Arnold in March, Leave a comment below if you would like to make that a trip for the team. Derek and I are also working out a way to offer you personal programing outside of the class work if you are interested in making a larger commit to weightlifting. This should all be ready to go in the new year.
